
Dr. Alicia Pownall, DVM
Dr. Pownall graduated Magna cum Laude from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine and will lead the team at our new clinic. Dr. Pownall comes with valuable experience in a high-volume, high-quality spay and neuter clinic, and is enthusiastic to begin working to make a difference in our local community. She is Fear-Free Certified, and spent time traveling to rural Washington to the Native American Reserves setting up mobile clinics for wellness exams, vaccinations, and spay/neuter at no cost to the low-income area.

Megan Betts, LVT
Our licensed veterinarian technician, Megan, recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Penn Foster College with a Veterinary Technician degree. Megan has been in the Veterinary profession for almost a decade, starting in a small-animal, general practice as a receptionist and quickly moving to an assistant/technician position, where she thrived and moved into a supervisor/trainer position. Megan has experience working in small-animal, emergency medicine, and with horses. Megan is certified as a Fear Free Professional and prides herself on her ability to empathize and work with fearful and stressed pets. Megan continues to expand her veterinary passion and knowledge with continuing education and enjoys sharing her knowledge with others. Megan and her life partner, Nelson, have two black cats and one pitbull at home. She is very excited to be working with the Humane Society of Warren County and further serve the community through the work of the HSWC Spay Clinic.

Kristy Weidlich, Receptionist/Veterinary Assistant
Kristy comes to the HSWC Spay clinic with more than 10 years experience in a veterinary setting. She most recently worked as a Client Care Representative at a clinic in Frederick County. She will be the smiling face at the front desk greeting clients and scheduling appointments. Kristy also assists with surgery prep, ordering, and inventory.
